Quote bar

Connaught place would have lost almost all its fizz that it held tightly for years were it not for these newly opened cafe’s and retro-bar’s. In a span of 2 odd years we have seen many places lit up in this vicinity. People’s interest is shifting from South Delhi back to the central region. One such contributor to this shift is Quote bar located right next to Regal cinema.

The entry is slightly tricky as the way passes through the cafe coffee day outlet; you can either take the lift or just make your way through the staircase to second floor. Enter the place and you have an aural dark feel with only top lit dim lights to maintain your privacy even in open areas to the maximum. You also have an extended menu of both drinks and food.I refrain from drinking, so the only flip-board important to me was the food menu and after a careful glance, what I liked most were the details mentioned in each and every item listed on the menu. Most places only list the name of the dish or some details of ingredients but they have given even the minutest of details of what’s going in a dish, which makes it very easy for anyone to decide whether they would like it or not, or to simply make a better choice.

To start with, I ordered crispy mushrooms stuffed with cheese, herbs and chilli flakes. They were lovely with hard crusted tops and soft mushroom heads inside and oozing cheese with a side of green chilli chutney – it was a great go. Next up was another wonder of chicken laced in wasabi where I quite liked the idea of toning down the pungency of wasabi and rubbing it on chicken for that sublime lingering taste.

I have always loved bruschettas for the sheer simplicity involved in making them followed by the beautiful taste extracted from them, which is tenfold. They had a smoked tomato and chicken bruschetta with olive cavier, which tasted absolutely perfect with its juicy top and great crusted base.

The last leg was definitely a burger that has caught the fancy of many recently; a great meaty roasted lamb burger makes for an apt demolisher to any appetite. The burger tasted great and was very juicy with sides of golden fried wedges as well as some fruits for people who might want to pair with it. Although I disapprove the price tag of Rs. 350 for that small a burger,it sure tasted great with fresh bread, baked right in front of my eyes.

The PLF for 2 is 2000 INR, the place can be contacted on (011)33105096 and the suggestive orders are wasabi chicken, tomato and chicken bruschetta with olive cavier and mutton burger.

    • If you face regal it’s just on the right side of cinema. I doubt that was the same place, cause as far as i know ICH still exists.
