Amour

It is a legitimate truth that humans adore nature and its beauty in full awe & what’s better than being served glorious food in a Patio, in those few blooming pink winter evenings of Delhi. It immediately clasps you into something very different from your everyday routine. That’s the case with Amour located in Hauz-Khas village and it delivers every bit of that promise in all possible exquisite moves.

The place is massive with a separate patio and indoor seating which is further sub-divided in a bar and cafe section. To me personally if you get anything beyond good food and service in a restaurant, it’s all just cherry topping on the cake. I sat in the open area on 4th floor on a wonderful evening which brightens me up half way, even before I order my food.

On the first look the menu looks exclusive as majority of condiments & ingredients seem to be imported from the Mediterranean region and not the regular Indian ones. Placing my initial orders of Cottage-cheese Millefeuille and Chef Crepes I take a walk through the patio to enjoy its beauty. The service seems to be good as my food was plated in 15 minutes approximately. The cottage cheese was beautifully done and had separate layers of Cottage cheese and spinach corn to make it a Millefeuille and on the side was Quinoa with a carrot potage, The combination was absolutely sinful as Millefeuille is something that’s limited to pastries or cakes only; but taking a broad step to take it beyond the sweet section, needs great skills.

The Chef-Crepes look “everything but crepes”; on the initial look they seemed to be Italian Ravioli, draped in cheese, all three pieces done with individual filling tasted quiet average and i’d personally be expecting my crepe to look more French than Italian.

From the mains, ordered Chicken in peri-peri sauce and Himalayan Trout in Chimichuri both the mains taste divine with meat done perfect, sauces rubbed with all generosity and a healthy dash of grilled vegetables and bell peppers to balance the plate.

I take a miss at the Desert and rather hit the section I should have tried initially, a simple smoothie with Raspberry and Orange to calm my senses, well blended and great tasting. It just sets me right for my bed but the management probably realized the same and made me walk 4 floors down by shutting the Elevator.

The PLF for the place is 3000 INR for 2, the place can be contacted on (011) 3310-5038 for prior booking and I suggest doing the same if you plan to take your date there on a Saturday or Sunday evening. The suggestive orders are Raspberry-Orange Smoothie, Cottage cheese Millefeuille & Full Himalayan Trout.
