Cafe High 5

Hauz Khas village has had a complete face change in the past decade, all thanks to the limited hands who did that and have really deep pockets as of now, any youngster looking to party on a weekend would surely consider the area once; But what happens to the more mature and suave crowd which is not interested in shaking a leg over a few glasses in the middle of night. High 5 which is a very new café tucked away in one corner of Hauz Khas village serves good food, great drinks and a sober atmosphere if you wish to sit in the open.

Move in and you have the same party scene but somehow I prefer the place outside, cause I personally go out to eat and not party. What I particularly like about the menu that its not 10 fold 200 odd dish menu. It concentrates on fewer dishes and tries to excel them which in itself is a USP these days. I started my order with Crispy Chicken Strips with Barbecue sauce and Fish Fingers both of them golden fried to perfection, the best thing about them is they do not have excess oil and are simple dishes that depict how well can the chef handle his food.

The Galawti Mutton with Ulte Tawe ke Parathe is another beauty from Awadh region that has been the buzz factor for number of eateries for a substantial time now. A large platter with bite sized parathas topped with galawati kawabs, this makes your job of consuming it so much easy and the meat is well cooked,it leaves no scope for complaint. A Strawberry and Coconut Smoothie is something to try from the drinks section if you are teetotaler, the subtle taste of coconut juice topped with fresh berries is something that would appeal to a lot of people just like me.

Heading to the mains section the Fish Fillet in Lemon Butter Caper sauce proved to be a great choice with the fish topped with white sauce gives a great tangy flavour, the sauté greens on side are fresh and the mashed potato works just about right complementing the fish. A great thing to notice is this place is a lighter dig on your pocket as compared to most other places in the same area.
