Jammu & Kashmir House

The leg 5 of my #BhawanTrail  was quiet like the Gujrat one, where I went someplace else and could not make it here on time. It was already around 1 when I decided I should go out and eat at another bhawan.  On calling the #Jammu&KashmirHouse I was informed they serve food till only till 2 and I was already an hour away from this place.

I rushed to drive and reached there by 1425, which was way past their time. They said the food was over but on requesting I figured out they had food and were merely reluctant on serving it but later agreed, which was kind and thoughtful.

The place is small, yet clean and mostly has a fixed menu of things unless you place an order in advance.  The general menu comprises of seekh kawab, chicken curry & mutton rogan josh everyday during lunch hours.  Ordered one each as I wanted to try everything, the rogan josh is light and loaded with oil and tastes average. The chicken curry has a thick pasty sauce with good chunks of chicken; although slightly high on the salt it still tastes far better than rogan josh.

The seekh kawab is the winner here, with 2 big servings of good pounded meat, well cooked  and topped with some caramelized onions. It’s hard to find a better seekh kawab in Delhi than that one.

The place is highly recommended for a good kawab or even as a limited window to Kashmiri food.
